This session will introduce Git as a version control system (VCS). We'll review basic use, and then have a discussion on other approaches (e.g. submodules).
In this year's edition, as opposed to my 2011 version, I'd like to leave more room for discussion on alternative set-up scenarios. There probably won't be as much need to convince folks to switch to it from something else as Git has become an industry standard in the last couple of years.
Once we've gone through the basics, I'd like to introduce and discuss:
- Drush makefiles
- Git submodules
- Repository hosting options
